How To Know If You Are To Tense

Tension, stress, anxiety, depression and many other disorders are issues of the modern world we live in. All of us suffer from them from time to time in our everyday lives. Does your life leave you feeling tense? Let’s find out how you can figure this out and even fix it.

Are You Tense When You Wake Up?

Think about how you feel in the morning when you get up to start your day. Do you wake up ready for the day with a smile on your face? Do you feel rested and ready to take on new challenges head-on?

Or when you get up do you dread having to start your day?

If you are not waking up with a positive attitude and a feel refreshed and ready, you are tense! Being tense and feeling stressed or overwhelmed is not a great way to start your day.

Changes For a Better Morning

So how do you change your morning attitude? There are a few things you can do to make your morning brighter.

Get Enough Sleep

First of all, get enough sleep! The average person needs 7 to 9 hours of sleep. Our bodies and our minds need this relaxation to help us focus and stay productive throughout the day. But how do we get more sleep so we can stop feeling so tense?

  • Decide when you have to get up and count back 8 hours to know the best time for you to go to bed.
  • Stop drinking caffeine at least 6 hours before bedtime.
  • Do something quiet and relaxing before you go to bed. (hot bath, read, etc)
  • Plan your next days routine and tasks so it is cleared out of your head.
  • Prepare everything you need for the next day so when you get up everything you need is where you need it to be.
  • Actually, go to bed. Don’t stay up to watch the end of that movie.

Wake Up Positive

The next step to a better morning and being less tense is to wake up and stretch and tell yourself it is going to be a good day. Sometimes we can convince ourselves, even when not feeling well that we will be happy and positive.

Change Your Outlook and Focus

Have you heard the saying “We will cross that bridge when we come to it.”? I’m sure you have. Basically, that is telling you to deal with what happens as it happens and don’t stress over it until then.

Instead of dwelling on what has happened prior and what you wished would have been different, change your focus. Do the following things to stay focused.

  • Think about what you will do today. Forget yesterday, it is gone.
  • Look around you and enjoy the scenery a bit.
  • Use positive affirmations. Tell yourself it will be a good day and you are happy and ready for new challenges.
  • Think about the positive outcome you are working towards in whatever area of your life you are working on.
